Meet Lilly Auchenbach: The Furry Heart of AKA The Fence Company

Hey there, humans! It’s Lilly, the official mascot and ultimate treat connoisseur of AKA The Fence Company. I thought it was about time I took over the blog and gave you a sneak peek into my fabulous, fur-filled life here at the office. Grab a treat (or two) and settle in—it’s going to be pawsome!

A Day in the Life of Lilly

My days are jam-packed with very important mascot duties. I start each morning with a good stretch and a few barks to let everyone know I’m ready to conquer the day. After all, being this adorable is a full-time job! My first order of business is to greet the team with tail wags and sloppy kisses. They can’t start their day without my fuzzy motivation!

Naps, Snacks, and More Naps

Let’s be real, though—being cute is exhausting. I need plenty of naps to keep my energy up. You can usually find me snoozing in my favorite sunny spot underneath a desk, dreaming about chasing squirrels and belly rubs. Speaking of belly rubs, they’re an absolute must around here. I have everyone trained to give me cuddles on demand. Who could resist this fluffy belly, am I right?!

Mischief and Mayhem

Now, I may be friendly, but I’ve got a mischievous streak, thanks to my husky heritage. I’ve been known to engage in a bit of groundhog bullying and the occasional game of “Catch Me If You Can” with Mom (aka Heather Auchenbach) in the shop yard. She says I’m a handful, but I know she secretly loves the chase. Keeps her on her toes!

Tricks for Treats

When I’m not causing a ruckus, I love to show off my tricks. With a tasty treat as motivation, I’ll speak, give paw, and roll over like a pro. The UPS guy is my biggest fan—he never forgets my daily treat. I’ve got him wrapped around my paw! And guess what? Jodi, our super sweet receptionist, brings me a dog treat every morning and has not forgotten once since she started. I’m one spoiled pup!

Come Say Hello!

So, what are you waiting for? Come visit me at AKA The Fence Company! I’m here to brighten your day, one wag at a time. Whether you need a furry friend to cheer you up or just want to see my trick repertoire in action, I’m your girl. And hey, bring treats. A mascot’s got to keep her energy up, you know! Until then, keep those tails wagging and those treats coming!

Paws and kisses,

Lilly Auchenbach

Fence-sational Choices: Pick the Best Fence for Your Home

Choosing the right material for your fence can feel like a daunting task. Do you go for the classic appeal of wood, the low-maintenance allure of vinyl, or the sleek look of aluminum? And what about the budget? Let’s break it down together! At AKA the Fence Co., we specialize in four main types of fencing materials: wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link. Let’s dive into the pros and cons of each to help you make the best decision for your property!

Wood

A wood fence is perfect if you’re dreaming of a charming, rustic vibe for your home. We use high-quality western red cedar and pressure-treated pine, depending on the style you choose. Picture a cozy split rail fence or a sturdy privacy fence—each brings a unique feel to your space.

Pros:

Affordable and easy to repair

Highly customizable

Can be painted or stained any color you like

Cons:

Requires regular maintenance

Can be susceptible to pests and rot

Shorter lifespan compared to other materials

Vinyl

Vinyl fences are the superheroes of the fencing world—strong, versatile, and low-maintenance. Whether you want a fence that mimics wood or one that stands out in sleek, modern designs, vinyl’s got you covered.

Pros:

Incredibly durable

Easy to clean

Available in a variety of colors and styles

Resistant to weather damage, rot, and splitting

Cons:

More expensive upfront and to repair

Environmental impact considerations

Aluminum

For a stylish and practical option, look no further than aluminum fencing. It’s a popular choice for both residential and commercial properties, offering elegance without the hassle.

Pros:

Long-lasting and lightweight

Corrosion-resistant

Perfect for DIY projects

Ideal for supporting climbing plants

Cons:

Doesn’t provide much privacy

Higher initial cost

Chain Link

Chain link fences are the workhorses of the fencing world—practical, durable, and budget-friendly. While they might not win beauty contests, they get the job done efficiently.

Pros:

Very affordable

Doesn’t block sunlight

Extremely durable

Great for climbing plants

Cons:

Offers no privacy

Can look industrial or utilitarian

Remember, the affordability of a fence can vary based on its style, length, and layout. For instance, a split rail or post and board fence might be more cost-effective than a vinyl privacy fence in some cases.

Picket Perfection: Crafting the Perfect Garden Enclosure

Imagine this… you’ve finally decided to take the plunge and transform your garden into a botanical wonderland. You’ve got the seeds, the soil, and the enthusiasm to start this new project. But wait… what about a fence? Slipped your mind, right? Ahh yes, the most vital piece of the puzzle, the fence! Well it’s a good thing that you landed on our site! We’re here to help you find the perfect fence for your garden!

First up we have the classic wooden fence! With its sturdy construction and rustic charm, this timeless choice stands tall, warding off unwanted intruders with ease. Whether painted in a crisp white hue or left to weather naturally, wooden fencing adds a touch of elegance to any garden landscape. Plus, it provides proper support for climbing plants like roses and jasmine, turning your fence into a living tapestry of color and beauty!

Next up we have the fusion of traditional charm and modern innovation – wood-style fencing crafted from vinyl materials paired with welded wire or chicken wire is truly a match made in garden heaven! Vinyl fencing may mimic the appearance of classic wood, but it boasts a durability fit for the ages. Unlike its wooden counterpart, vinyl doesn’t warp, rot, or succumb to insect damage. It stands strong against the elements, from scorching sun to torrential rain, ensuring that your garden remains protected year after year with minimal maintenance required.

And last but not least, aluminum fencing! Aluminum fencing emerges as a top-notch option for securing your garden with style and sophistication. With its durability, low-maintenance appeal, versatile design options, and eco-friendly attributes, aluminum fencing offers the perfect blend of form and function for protecting your botanical paradise.

Think of your garden as the VIP section of your home – it deserves the best protection and presentation! Whether you’re leaning towards the timeless charm of wooden fences, the sleek modernity of vinyl designs, or the chic vibe of aluminum fencing, there’s an option out there that’ll be sure to steal the spotlight!
